Tiny Doors on the Northern Beaches

The Northern Beaches is home to a unique public art project called Tiny Doors. This project draws windows on the creativity of local youth aged 12 to 24 to design miniature public artworks. These artworks are themed after fictional doors from books and films and will be installed on local streets and suburbs. The idea behind the project is to bring community life and art to local streets.

Founded in 1988, Andrew Meakin Leadlights services the Sydney Metropolitan area, including the N.Beaches and North Shore. Andrew Meakin Leadlights is a family owned and operated business providing architecturally designed windows and doors. They are a leading supplier of Aluminium windows and doors and have over 30 years of experience between them.

You can learn more about these doors by visiting the website. It provides information about the doors and the stories behind them. It’s free and very educational. Just like with the Tiny Door Project in Georgia, it involves children in a treasure hunt and encourages them to read more. Participants in the project must visit all six of the Northern Beaches libraries: Manly, Seaforth, Warringah Mall, Mona Vale, Avalon, Frenches Forrest, and Belrose.
